Baker Botts L.L.P. is seeking an experienced Energy Regulatory Associate for our Washington, D.C. office. Candidates should have 2-4 years of FERC regulatory experience, particularly in power matters. The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials, excellent communication and organizational skills, proven project management ability, and a strong commitment to excellence and teamwork. This role will provide the opportunity for significant direct exposure to clients and cutting-edge issues facing the power and natural gas industries.
Baker Botts Energy Regulatory practice is Chambers-Ranked in Federal Energy Regulatory (FERC) electricity and natural gas, as well as Texas regulatory. We primarily represent major electric and natural gas utilities, merchant generators, energy trading firms, and developers in all aspects of their regulated activities, including, but not limited to:
Administrative proceedings (rate proceedings, tariff amendments, etc.) and litigation;
Generator, load, and transmission interconnection;
Transmission rate design;
Electric market design and Regional Transmission Organizations (RTO) tariffs; and
FERC compliance, investigations, and enforcement; and
Energy regulatory support for transactions for the financing, development, acquisition and disposition of energy assets.
This cross-office team includes 15 attorneys in the Washington, Houston, and Austin dedicated to Energy Regulatory work.
For positions based in the Washington, DC office of Baker Botts L.L.P., the salary range is $235,000 to $310,000 and depends on a candidate's experience.
